I can not be more impressed with this piece of equipment. From baked potatoes to pizzas done quick and right. The interchangeable cooking pans are great and easy to clean. We love using this oven. It is worth the price.

I bought my first Advantium 21 years ago and used it multiple times a day. It was one of those items that I had to replace, I loved it so much! I use all of the functions it has. The microwave is great, but the halogen heat is wonderful for biscuits, pizza, toast, potatoes…the list goes on and on.

We have purchased a total of four Advantiums. We love the versatility and ease it brings to preparing meals. We had to replace the last one because the cabinet was arching and caused the glass covering the lamp to break 3 times. We love the advantium, however, we almost decided to not replace it due to how expensive they have become. Our fingers are crossed that our new one will last.

While we just installed this, so far it makes great bananna bread and pizza.
we have the 220v version it heats up faster than a conventional oven and bakes great in addition to being a great microwave without the heat from a regular oven, great option in the Arizona desert!

Ours was installed when our house was built in 2014. The magnetron and power supply died after about four years (service call). One of the top two halogen bulbs died at the 5.5 year mark as well as one of the wheels broke off of the turntable under the glass platter (limped along without both). The entire unit died when the unit was only seven and a half years old. It just cost us $3000 to replace the unit with a new one. We had to replace the unit with a new one because the installation cut out is unique for this model in our built-in cabinet and our wiring is for a 230 V installation.
A couple other things to note, are 1) the microwave function is relatively weak – it takes 3 minutes to boil a cup of water, 2) the light in the unit has to be turned on manually while you're cooking and only stays on about four seconds before automatically shutting off if you wish to see the food you are cooking, 3) the clock is not displayed when the unit is not running and 4) the stainless steel interior stains badly from cooking splatters and is impossible to clean. Also note, that the glass microwave platter has to be switched out with a metal platter when you want to use the oven instead of the microwave and then switched back when you are finished. That process can be rather tedious. We expected more from GE for an expensive, weak microwave and small convection oven combo that only lasted 7 years.

The product features get five stars but the construction and design only get two stars. Replaced the ceramic plate, glass cracked on the door and door had to be replaced. Also, as many have commented this is an oven that is very difficult to clean and keep clean. surfaces are not friendly for intense cooking at high heat especially when grease splatters from streaks or burgers. Food comes out delicious but the mess created is a cleaning nightmare. Same is true for the non stick plates and grilling pan. so frustrating but I have a second one and will try to deal with the cleaning issues. Generally, customer service, in my experience, is the worst in the industry

I had owned the original model bought in 2002. It lasted over 18 years. Was very happy with it. I recently replaced it with this newer and updated model and even more thrilled with it now that the interior is larger. It's a bit pricey but if you don't have room for a second oven, this is worth it.

I'm so excited about this oven! It was included in our new home package and I've used it more than I've used the regular oven and it's only been 10 days. I love that it comes with a grill plate, baking plate and microwave plate; the only thing I haven't used yet is the grill plate. I'd definitely purchase this again if I ever need to replace it.

I installed one of these in our old apartment in 2006 and it got a lot of use, but we moved and I finally had a chance to purchase and install this unit last month. Kicking myself for not having gotten one sooner. Especially in the dead of winter months and ending the work day late in the evening having this Advantium means I can create a great meal far faster than with a traditional oven and with far better results than your average microwave. If you get one of these, give yourself time to really learn how to use it, once you've mastered it, you'll be glad you did, especially if you are pressed for time to get dinner on the table and want to prepare healthy meals for your family.

We replaced our original Advantium with this newer version. We loved our original one and used it constantly for almost 16 years. We were disappointed to discover that the size has been changed (it's 4" shorter), which meant it no longer fit our custom built cabinet and we had to either redo the cabinet or purchase a $400 accessory drawer for it to fit. The newer model is more powerful and is an amazing appliance! But the inner trays have been redesigned to be the maximum size that will fit inside the oven. Heavy and awkward to place in and out of the oven, even more so when the food and oven are hot. (On the speed cook setting, the food is directly on the metal tray so the entire tray has to be lifted in and out of the oven with the food on it.) It requires two hands and often the food spills out the back as there is no extra room to handle the tray from its sides. The previous, smaller sizes were much more user friendly. I have to wonder if a man who never cooks oversaw these design changes. The tray size isn't really as much of an issue with the microwave setting, as the food is in another bowl and then placed on the tray.

It takes awhile to figure out all the controls. Prefer a hard copy manual for general operation. Ex: popcorn is very hard to find in the controls. The mechanical feature we would like to have incorporated is a side opening door. This would allow for product owners to reach in and clean the unit with less strain. (My wife is 5'7" and still can't reach inside to clean without a step ladder. The model we owned in the early 2000's opened from the side and was much easier to clean and reach into.)
For our earlier model we were told to use a glass cooktop cleaner to clean the inside. This worked really well for baked on food. But now, it's hot water and Cerama Bryte and there is still staining on the walls (we do clean it each time).
The first generation Advantium had more preprogrammed menus and was more intuitive. The new model is much less cook-friendly. Have a real user help design the help menu and buttons/controls. Even the oven light switch was not intuitive.
